I'm On The Pursuit Of Happiness

I picked up this nail varnish at a Chanel event for makeup artists back in January, and I've pretty much been wearing it ever since!

This might be the first time I've ever used an entire bottle of polish!  Totally obsessed...

The Kids Just Want To Have Fun

Tonight's gift idea, Chanel Nail Varnish!

(photo via tumblr)

Over the past few years I've become somewhat of a "collector" of Chanel Nail Colour. They make amazing shades, a lot of which are limited edition. It's a nice, colorful gift, and how can you go wrong giving a gift with those cute double c's? At $23, it's the perfect for coworkers or school friends.

White Out

Essie's Mint Candy Apple is now available for purchase on their website (along with their entire candy inspired winter collection)...

While I wait for mine, I have my nails painted with Chanel's Allegoria

It's a much lighter shade than I'm used to, but with three coats it is totally opaque and I really love it!

Life is Crazy, Candy Baby

For the past few weeks my nails haven't seen anything but Chanel's Vendetta...

It's such a gorgeous color for Fall, and I'm totally obsessed, but I'll be changing it up soon!

For winter, Essie is releasing their take on the wildly popular mint green shades with Mint Candy Apple.

Their candy inspired winter lacquers are due out next month, I can't wait to try them all!

Like a Charm

Remember when I told you about Orly's Once Upon A Time Collection?

Well I've been wearing Poison Apple for four days (with no top coat) and it hasn't chipped at all!

It's pretty unbelievable considering I usually ruin a good manicure within a matter of hours. I'm so into it!

Enchantment

More to look forward to! Orly's new Fall collection, Once Upon A Time.
I'm loving all the shades but my personal favorite is Enchanted Forrest

I first heard about it from Kimmie Kyees, and now I'm hearing that celebrity green manicurist Jenna Hipp calls it her top pick of the year and expects it to replace the darker shades of last season.

I'm also head over heels for Prince Charming

Mirror Mirror (hello! remember when I used to have to make my own grey varnishes??)

and Happily Ever After

I think it will go beautifully with my new Nars lipstick in Fast Ride!

All of the shades are free of DBP and all traces of toluene and formaldehyde. They will be available in September for $7.50. I can't wait for these gorgeous shades to be available, I think I will try them out with Orly's matte top coat!

P.S. Sorry for those of you who emailed me yesterday about my missing post. I guess I jumped the gun on that one but I'll post it again at a later date.

Slow Hands

I have it on good word from the amazing Miss Kimmie Kyees that essie's matte about you is totally amazing!

I've tried a few of the new OPI matte varnishes and I haven't quite decided if I love them or not (I loved the navy, but not the green). I'm really looking forward to trying this top coat as an alternative!

P.S. I've been having a lot of fun on tumblr lately, if you haven't checked it out yet, GO NOW!

Mint Condition

I'm feeling a bit under the weather and in no mood to blog, but I would be doing you a great disservice if I did not point you in the direction of All Lacqured Up for the news that Chanel is finally releasing their mint green nail lacquer that we all went ga ga for during their Fall '09 runway show! It's called Jade, and there's a pale pink called Jade Rose.

My head is exploding. Bisou bisou babies!

Mend These Trends

Great news for nail lovers! Back in March I told you about a cool line of matte nail varnish. Well All Lacqured Up has the scoop on the new OPI matte collection!

Due out in July, OPI has mattified some of their most popular shades. I am SO EXCITED for a matte "Lincoln Park After Dark".

Some of you super smart nail girls already know that you can give any nail lacquer a matte finish with the Orly Matte Top Coat.

Either way, it looks like the matte nail trend is about to get really popular!

God Bless The Child

Yesterday my three year old niece asked if she could paint my nails. Since I encourage all of her beauty related activities, I agreed to let her and figured I could take it off when I got home. To my surprise, she whipped out one of OPI's Nic Sticks.

Although this pumpable nail pen isn't something I would normally seek out to use on myself, I have to say, she did an amazing job with it. The pen made it easier for her and my nails ended up looking a lot neater than they do when she uses a traditional polish. The color she used ("text me") is fun and it looks like they have a great range of colors.

The pens are made by OPI so you can trust it has great wearability and color payoff. If you are awkward and messy when you paint your nails, or just don't have a lot of time for it, pick up a Nic Stick. I think I'm going to grab one in "baby go bye bye".

For you more advanced nail girls, you might be able to do some fun nail art with the sticks! The new Sally Hansen Nail Art Pens are great too!

P.S. Awesome response to the Dove coupons. I will send those out by the end of the week.

The Big Picture

Here's a few reasons why I always carry a vast array of nail colours to every shoot I go to...

Unfortunately when I upload pictures to blogger, they get the colour sucked right out of them, but I think you get the point...

Day N Night

Just a few things I'm obsessing over right now...

Scarlett Johansson on the cover of French Vogue

How freaking amazing does she look? As far as I'm concerned, she just regained HBIC status!

This is an amazing product! One of those things I wish I had thought of! Put it over a cream lip colour and take down the shine! I've been using it a lot over the past few days and I LOVE it!

I haven't used it long enough to experience the firming benefits, but the silky formula leaves skin hydrated with a very light, amazing scent. I tested it on my arm the other night and couldn't stop sniffing my skin! My fiance thought I was losing my mind. I kept saying "smell my arm!". Ok, crazy.

and Saint Germain lipstick from the new Sugarsweet collection

The nail varnish looks like it's straight off the Chanel runway, and the lipstick is very similar to Melrose Mood from the Heatherette collection (which was totally limited, and is TOTALLY gone!)

My new preppy nails by Kimmie Kyees

Argyle and Houndstooth! Another Minx + Cal Gel combo!

Everybody Knows She's A Femme Fatale

On the subject of nails... I've been in to pretty shiny metallics and glitters, but what about a matte polish? Karen O's favorite make up artist, Mike Potter, has started his own line of shine-less varnish, and I totally dig it!

Totally Victorian/Grunge/High Fashion/Rock N' Roll! They come in Black, Red, Pink, and Ivory. Check it out at koknockout.com.

Gettin Cakey

For anyone (like myself) still obsessing over the beautiful mint green creme varnish from the Paris Chanel show...

M.A.C.'s new Sugarsweet collection features a great mint green varnish called Peppermint Patti

On counters Thursday, but available online right... now! Go!

Gold Lion

I haven't seen the latest issue of Foam Magazine yet, but L.A. Models Blog posted the "Golden Girl" story I did with Brooke Nipar.

This is the second time I've worked for the mag, and I really like where they are going with it. I think it's really cute!

In other news, I'm loving the mint green varnish at the Fall '09 Chanel show...

Kimmie Kyees gave me an amazing gel manicure last night with layers of glitter and stars and little metallic flecks! It looks like I have disco balls on the ends of my fingers, and I'm loving it, so it might be awhile before I try mint green!

Flyin First Class

Fashionista has the d.l. on fashion weeks retro nail looks.... (inspired by a look that was first seen in a 1936 issue of Vogue)

But I do believe my friend Kimmie did it best on Fergie for the cover of Blender.

Just sayin'!

P.S. Speaking of Kimmie, I worked with her on a three day shoot recently and she gave me an amazing manicure during one of our lunch breaks with China Glaze's Bermuda Breakaway.

It's a really great mid-tone blue cream.  I can't believe I don't own it! (Probably time for me to navigate on over to 8ty8beauty!)

Feel Good Inc.

When I was in the UK last month I ran across a brand of nail varnish I had never seen before called Nails Inc.
Unfortunately both times I saw it (once at Harvey Nichols, and once at the crazy amazing Top Shop in Oxford Circus), I was in a big hurry and didn't grab any.  I'm kicking myself now because I really want to try Belgrave Place...

I don't think I've seen another purple varnish quite like it!
