Flyin First Class

Fashionista has the d.l. on fashion weeks retro nail looks.... (inspired by a look that was first seen in a 1936 issue of Vogue)

But I do believe my friend Kimmie did it best on Fergie for the cover of Blender.

Just sayin'!

P.S. Speaking of Kimmie, I worked with her on a three day shoot recently and she gave me an amazing manicure during one of our lunch breaks with China Glaze's Bermuda Breakaway.

It's a really great mid-tone blue cream.  I can't believe I don't own it! (Probably time for me to navigate on over to 8ty8beauty!)

Daddy O!

Speaking of having a pretty cool job... This was fun!

Latest obsession... Rose Parfait Gloss Absolute by fresh.

Gloss Absolute nourishes lips while plumping, and this shade has amazing lilac undertones. So beautiful!

Cuz I'm Packin' Plastic

The "new look" Lily debuted on the Tonight Show is getting rave reviews...

more pics...

I know it's silly, but I'm always flattered by stuff like this.  The only thing they got wrong is the "spray tan".  She was just in the Bahamas.

P.S. Catch her on Ellen tomorrow!

Fitter Happier

Sorry to have disappeared, I've been working, working, working.  Just got finished working on a three day beauty campaign that kicked my butt, but will be so worth it when I see the finished product!  Today I did Lily Allen's make up for The Tonight Show, so be sure and tune in if you read this in time, and let me know what you think!

Let's Go Back To The Start

Further proof that I have the coolest job in the world... On Sunday I got to attend the Grammy's with Coldplay.

It was really cute when they unexpectedly won for best rock album.

Don't You Tell Me Life's A Bore

Here is a "teaser" for the music video I recently did with Giant Drag...

Quite possibly one of the hardest jobs I've ever done considering how many times Annie had to shower and I had to start all over on her make up... Fortunately for her, we are best friends so it would have been kind of awkward for me to quit after she got chocolate pudding dumped on her beautifully made up face...  (just kidding buddy...) In the end it was totally worth it because the video looks pretty dang cool!

You Have To Believe We Are Magic

Last night I had the privilege of attending Kabuki's Los Angeles MAC Pro master class. Kabuki is a genius and a true inspiration of mine which makes him one of those "make up artists to obsess over"...

Kabuki's background in textiles gives him a unique ability to work with texture. Like another favorite of mine, Pat McGrath, he often uses things that AREN'T "make up" to achieve a look.

Besides the amazing video I posted here, these are a few of my favorite images of his...

At the class we watched as Kabuki did three different make up looks. I always love to watch other make up artists work and see a different way of doing things, but this was BANANAS! At the end he took questions, and mostly people asked how he made the different pieces he used. Finally he said "you guys are gonna copy me!" Ha ha! I know how he feels! So on that note... make sure you are "inspired" by other's work, don't just copy it! :)

And a huuuuge THANK YOU to MAC cosmetics (and especially Monique Boyer!) for their support of the professional artist and for always helping to extend our education!

Lighten Up Baby!

As you may already know, I am a big fan of Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, so I don't know what took me so long to try Armani's Face Fabric.

It is an invisible make up, much like a tinted moisturizer. It does a really great job of evening out the skin tone and bringing a natural glow to the face. It is super light weight, making it perfect for spring/summer, and for make up artists that do men's grooming!

I Haven't Got A Stitch To Wear

For awhile I thought I was getting too jaded to really, truly be over the top excited to work with someone... Until I got booked to work with Morrissey. The Filter magazine cover I did with him comes out in a couple of weeks, but here's a preview.

(photographed by Michael Muller)

Let's just say it took me a while to pick out an outfit to wear to work that day. :)
