His work and creativity will continue to inspire me and my peers for years and years to come. A memorial service will be held in Tokyo on January 31.

Shu Uemura, 1928-2007
A man who has truly merged the concepts of art and beauty, and has been a huge inspiration to me, Shu Uemura, has died from acute pneumonia on Dec. 29.
