Life's A Kick In This Town

I did Diablo Cody's make up for the latest issue of Nylon.

(shot by Bryan Sheffield)

She's so freaking awesome and the shoot was a lot of fun! Diablo went to "lunge town", and by the end of the shoot we were all pretty much covered in champagne and confetti.

What It Feels Like For a Girl

Back in March I did a shoot with The Donnas (shot by Claire and Jeremy Weiss) for NYLON magazine.

They were super cool girls, and now they have a cool behind the scenes video here.

The Ride of Los Angeles

June is an exciting month because I have work in a lot of my favorite magazines including Nylon, Paper, Giant, Trace, and Missbehave...  I just saw the Missbehave story on Brooke Nipar's site and I'm really, really proud of it!

She also had this great portrait!

Being a make up artist in LA, I don't get to do a lot of good fashion stories, so this is really exciting for me!

Girls Night

I recently worked with The Donnas for Nylon magazine.

The girls were totally cool, and a lot of fun. There's some video footage of the shoot somewhere on the internet, but I've yet to find it.

Something Like a Phenomena

One of my favorite magazines, NYLON, did an interview with one of my favorite photographers, Alex Prager, about one of my favorite clothing lines, WeSC, and the awesome art show she curated.

The Hardest Way To Make An Easy Living

I guess I'm not the only one obsessed with grey nail varnish anymore!

Nylon is calling it the first big nail shade of '08.

In other news, M.A.C. launched their Fafi collection today, and I got to see it up close and personal at the pro store on Robertson.

They also made a really cute website for the Fafi collection at www.macfafi.com, and if you want to know more about Fafi, go to www.fafi.net. She's been one of my favorite grafitti artists for awhile and the fact that she's teamed up with M.A.C. is mind blowingly AWESOME!

The DJ's Girl

NYLON  posted about one of my bestest friends, Sarah Lewitinn (aka DJ Ultragrrrl)

(circa 2004)

she's djing at the J. Crew spin off store called Madewell!

Soooo cute!

Check out Sarah's awesome book!!!

The Pocket DJ

(check the "thank you's" in the front of the book... you'll find my name after The Killers, but before Brandon Flowers, Joy Division, and Mary-Kate!) ;)

You probably didn't realize I was so cool! :D

Viva Le Rev!

I recently did a shoot with a really cool band called Le Rev.  Check out their interview on Nylon's site.

Download their record here...  Le Rev - Tales of Running Away - Escape Me

You won't be sorry, it's REALLY good. :)

"Everything looks prettier when it goes fast."

I was cruising through the NYLON magazine site and came upon this cool site. It's Auto Paint Cosmetics nail varnish. I love the idea behind it. Each color is inspired by the paint job of a classic car, and they are free of yucky DBP, toluene, and formaldehyde. I think my fave is 60' Rambler.

$9 a pop seems a bit pricey, but it's a home grown company (started in a garage in Silver Lake) and really... how can you resist?

Everything's Just Wonderful

The internet is abuzz with the rumor that Teresa Palmer has been cast as Wonder Woman in the new Justice League movie. I hope it's true! I think she would be fantastic! Here's a shoot I did with Teresa Palmer for NYLON magazine (shot by my buddies Jeremy and Claire Weiss).
