Day N Night

Just a few things I'm obsessing over right now...

Scarlett Johansson on the cover of French Vogue

How freaking amazing does she look? As far as I'm concerned, she just regained HBIC status!

This is an amazing product! One of those things I wish I had thought of! Put it over a cream lip colour and take down the shine! I've been using it a lot over the past few days and I LOVE it!

I haven't used it long enough to experience the firming benefits, but the silky formula leaves skin hydrated with a very light, amazing scent. I tested it on my arm the other night and couldn't stop sniffing my skin! My fiance thought I was losing my mind. I kept saying "smell my arm!". Ok, crazy.

The nail varnish looks like it's straight off the Chanel runway, and the lipstick is very similar to Melrose Mood from the Heatherette collection (which was totally limited, and is TOTALLY gone!)

Argyle and Houndstooth! Another Minx + Cal Gel combo!

All In The Suit That You Wear

During the press for Scott Weiland's new record, and the Stone Temple Pilots reunion, we did a shoot for Inked magazine.

These photos were shot by Frank Ockenfels who is pretty much my hero! He's taken some of the most iconic music photographs of my generation. I plan to ask him for a bigger version of this...

Little Sister

Anyone who has read this blog for awhile knows what a huge fan I am of Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. In fact, a lot of people know now since I've been quoted about it in the new issue of In Style magazine.

They quote me as saying it's "as good as airbrush", but really, I think it's better!

Well, I didn't think it was possible, but Armani has managed to improve upon the greatest foundation around! Their new formula is called Lasting Silk UV Foundation, and it's the.best.EVER!

I tried the new foundation yesterday and was blown away! It glides on the skin just as beautifully as it's big sister, Luminous Silk, with the same (if not better) buildable and weightless colour. This formula is a semi-mat so it's not quite as dewey. Hard to believe, but it is also longer lasting! It has the same beautiful luminosity as it's predecessor, but I am loving the new texture! And, to top it all off, it has SPF 20 to protect your beautiful skin from the damaging effects of sun! Amazing!

Available in Europe in September, and I'm not sure when it will be available in the US, but I am looking in to it for you and I will keep you updated as soon as I have an answer!

Update: Armani tells me it will be available in the US on April 1st! Yay!

Everybody Knows She's A Femme Fatale

On the subject of nails... I've been in to pretty shiny metallics and glitters, but what about a matte polish? Karen O's favorite make up artist, Mike Potter, has started his own line of shine-less varnish, and I totally dig it!

Totally Victorian/Grunge/High Fashion/Rock N' Roll! They come in Black, Red, Pink, and Ivory. Check it out at koknockout.com.

Got Her Toes Done Up With Her Fingernails Matchin'

The amazing Miss Kimmie Kyees did my nails again!

(this "better" photo of my nails was requested by wordtoyourmoms.com)

This time she used Minx and Cal Gel... I've gotten comments on them all day!

Get The Sillies Out

I try hard not to totally geek out over my love of Yo Gabba Gabba on this blog but, I can't contain myself... I think I need this!

And, on a beauty related note... I just got the most amazing lip liner and eye liner pencils from Benefit.

The automatic lipliner pencils have two of the most beautiful nude shades I've ever seen and they have this great lip brush on the end for blending. The automatic eyeliner pencils are a dream too! I love the toasted hazelnut shade! Both glide on smoothly and are long wearing/waterproof. Available May 09!

May is going be a big month at the counters, so get ready!

Diamonds Are Forever

I just got a preview of Dior's amazing Summer '09 and it is knocking me out! I'm totally in love with the Dior Addict Lip Polishes!

Sorry for the lame camera phone shots, but these don't hit the counters til May so I can't find an official picture. But... how gorgeous are those colours??? What you can't see here is the really cool patented spinning applicator! It feels so great when you're applying it to your lips, like a little massage! The texture is super super glossy, and the colours are sheer. I'm so in love!!!

I also got to check out the new Dior 5-Colour Eyeshadow in Electric Lights from the Dior Cristal summer collection!

The colours are très très iridescent! I'm totally feeling the silver and blue!

These new products will be available in May, so keep your eyes peeled! These are MUST HAVES for any beauty buff!

Forever For Her

I was recently given some Make Up For Ever products to try, and now I've become obsessed with the entire line!

The shadows and blushes are great. They are loaded with pigment and feature some very cool colours.

But, what I'm REALLY obsessing over is the HD Primer.

I don't typically use primers, and just opt for a moisturizer instead, but once I tried this one, I was totally hooked. It does a great job of minimizing pores and priming the skin for a flawless make up application.

My success with this product led me to their HD powder.

This is BY FAR the thinnest powder I have ever used, it's totally invisible, and it has a great soft focus effect that does an amazing job of camouflaging fine lines and blemishes.

And then, of course, the flash colors...

I started out with a few pots, but I am now the proud owner of The Flash Color Case

This palette is truly a must for any serious make up artist. You can use it for pretty much anything, so get creative!

I'm also currently experimenting with their concealers, and so far, so good...

This weekend is the Make Up Show here in Los Angeles, and I'll have some more exciting Make Up For Ever news for you upon my return!

Now, just for fun... here's one of the promo pictures I recently did with Nine Inch Nails.

The Dope Show

I am totally dying over the make up at the Alexander McQueen A/W '09 Paris show...

(click)

It's totally creepy and awesome and It reminds me of Marilyn Manson meets The Joker... In a good way!

Check out the backstage pics here!

Gold Lion

I haven't seen the latest issue of Foam Magazine yet, but L.A. Models Blog posted the "Golden Girl" story I did with Brooke Nipar.

This is the second time I've worked for the mag, and I really like where they are going with it. I think it's really cute!

In other news, I'm loving the mint green varnish at the Fall '09 Chanel show...

Kimmie Kyees gave me an amazing gel manicure last night with layers of glitter and stars and little metallic flecks! It looks like I have disco balls on the ends of my fingers, and I'm loving it, so it might be awhile before I try mint green!

Life's A Kick In This Town

I did Diablo Cody's make up for the latest issue of Nylon.

(shot by Bryan Sheffield)

She's so freaking awesome and the shoot was a lot of fun! Diablo went to "lunge town", and by the end of the shoot we were all pretty much covered in champagne and confetti.

Please Don't Go Girl

My day yesterday went a little like this...

Now, I've worked with a lot of talented people with enthusiastic fans, but I have NEVER experienced anything like this! People had camped out in line for DAYS in the rain, and even though I left the show a good 20 minutes after the band, there was a still a sea of female fans blocking the exit to the parking lot... security was able to make enough room for me to inch my car out, but apparently a bunch of them thought I was hiding a band member... so, let's just say it took awhile for me to get out of there! My life is so weird sometimes.
