Making my Mark

Since I've been a make up artist, I've been lucky enough to make some relationships with PR firms and cosmetics lines. Because of this, I get some nice little packages of make up sent to me from time to time (and thank GOD for that because maintaining your make up kit can be VERY expensive!)...

Last week I received a package I wasn't expecting. When I opened it, I found a package full of mark. make up. It looked like a bunch of tinted moisturizers and concealer sticks in a nice see thru zipper bag. I thought, oh that's nice... I can definitely use the bag it came in and maybe I will eventually get around to trying the make up... 

Upon further inspection, I found a note from one of my favorite make up artists, Jillian Dempsey. I've been following Jillian's work ever since I saw this spread of Kirsten Dunst in Elle Magazine...

I was going out that night so when I went to do my make up I thought, what the heck, I'll try it! First I used the c-thru-u:

I used it as an all over tinted moisturizer, and then I used the Speedway Do Everything Makeup:

I used it as an under eye concealer and also as added coverage on any little imperfections using my fingers (aka God's blending tool)...

I can not even begin to tell you how impressed I am with this make up! I never thought anything would replace my Stila tinted moisturizer, but I think it has finally met it's match!

The mark. make up gave me the perfect dewy glow and the coverage was amazing! The Speedway is creamy and build-able. I love love love it! And you know what the best part is? It is unbelievably AFFORDABLE... Where was this stuff when I was first building my make up kit?!?! I think this might be the best thing to ever happen to young make up artists...

Also, as a side note, mark. is part of Avon so I'm sure there is a way to sign up and make money by selling the products (another great idea for the make up artist that is just starting out!)... You can find more here...
